33rd São Caetano Italian Festival begins this Saturday (8)

The Italian Festival of São Caetano begins on August 8th, with free admission, 35 charity stalls, and eight nights of cultural attractions.

The 33rd Italian Festival of São Caetano do Sul begins this Saturday (8), at 18 pm, around the São Caetano Parish and the Parque Província de Treviso, in the Fundação neighborhood. Admission is free.

The event will take place on August 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, and 30. On Saturdays, activities will run from 18 PM to 23 PM. On Sundays, it will be open from 18 PM to 22 PM. official schedule It brings together Italian music bands, choirs, theater, dance, comedy, and traveling artistic interventions.

The 2026 edition will feature 35 stalls run by charitable organizations and will involve approximately 900 volunteers. According to the São Caetano do Sul City Hall, the income generated during the festival will be used to support the participating institutions.

The festival's location is linked to Italian immigration in the city. The Fundação neighborhood was the first colonial settlement of Italian immigrants in São Caetano and grew around the São Caetano Church, known as the Old Matriz Church, according to... Pro-Memory Foundation.

Opening this weekend

Saturday's program begins at 18 PM with the itinerant performance of the Maria Jazz Band and the Italian Colonists. At 19 PM, the Choir of the Italian-Brazilian Cultural Society of Santo André and soprano Solange Gonçalves will perform.

The official opening will be at 19:45 PM, with the Italian national anthem performed by the choir, conducted by Reinaldo Sanches, accompanied by Solange Gonçalves and students from EMEF Senador Fláquer.

Fred Rovella Guests take the stage at 20 PM. The band Finestra del Cuore closes the musical program at 21:30 PM. The public can also visit the art installation "Italian Immigrants," set up for photographs.

On Sunday (9), the opening will be at 18 pm. The itinerant intervention “La Pizzaria!”, by the NEx.Arte collective, starts at 18:30 pm. Fred Rovella and Guests perform from 19 pm to 22 pm, and the company Doispralá Doispracá brings the “Realejo de Histórias” to the event at 20:30 pm.
