More than 70 Italians have responded to the Italian government's voluntary call and have already been repatriated since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to data from the Farnesina, as the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is known.

Italy allocates funds to citizens abroad
In addition to aid with repatriation, the Italian government allocated 5 million euros to help citizens abroad during the new coronavirus pandemic.
The amount is in the “Cura Itália” decree, published by the government in March and approved by Parliament last week. Of this total, 4 million euros will be allocated to assistance measures for Italian citizens abroad who are in conditions of poverty or need.
“This is an amount specifically allocated to face the emergency linked to the coronavirus,” said Merlo.
