the deputy Fabio Porta (PD) questioned the Italian government about the CNH conversion agreement.
Brazil and Italy did not renew the bilateral agreement that guaranteed the reciprocal recognition of drivers' licenses from both countries.
The pact, which came into force on January 13, 2018 and was valid for 5 years, ended last Friday (13).
“The driving license is a fundamental instrument for the exercise of activities and professions for all citizens who live, for various reasons, between two countries”, said the Italian parliamentarian.
Before the expiration date, however, he sent a letter to the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Transport, Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini, respectively, requesting a response on the possible renewal of the agreement.
“The uncertainty is generating a lot of concern among citizens of both countries. I hope that the government’s response will be in line with expectations and that all the procedures foreseen for the renewal of the agreement between Italy and Brazil will be achieved within a reasonably short period of time,” said Fabio Porta.
