Fiumicino Airport is the first in Europe to activate a new health surveillance measure: the “Smart Helmet”

Fiumicino Airport in Rome, the largest in Italy, is the first in Europe to use the "Smart Helmet," a portable thermal scanner in the form of a helmet. The equipment will be used to measure the body temperature of people in transit through the terminals.

Equipped with a flat screen, which thanks to built-in virtual reality and high-resolution images, the technology allows the operator to measure passengers' temperatures from a distance of up to 7 meters.

If the device detects feverish symptoms greater than 37 and a half degrees, the person is obliged to undergo a medical check-up. Fever is one of the main symptoms of Covid-19.
