If you are looking for the Italian citizenship If you have encountered difficulties when looking for your ancestors' certificates, or want to enter the world of genealogical research, this course could be ideal for you.
On July 1st and 2nd, July 15th and 16th, July 29th and 30th, and August 12th and 13th, the online course will take place “Practice reading old Brazilian and Italian documents (1750-1950)” with professor Virginio Mantesso, graduated in Geology from the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters at USP and Bachelor in History from the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences at USP.
Over the course of 8 classes, lasting approximately 4 hours each, participants will have the opportunity to acquire skills to decipher old documents with spelling and content difficulties.
The course takes a hands-on approach and teaches the art of reading paleography, enabling students to collect valuable data from these documents. Topics covered include an introduction to paleography, reading old printed material in Portuguese and Italian, the history of civil and religious records in Brazil and Italy, and data collection from Latin records.
To facilitate learning, supplementary materials and technical support will be provided.
Classes will be recorded and will be available for 7 days after the end of the course, providing flexibility in schedules for participants.
