Two of the most emblematic monuments on the planet will formalize an agreement this Thursday (28) twinningThe Christ the Redeemer Sanctuary in Rio de Janeiro and the Archaeological Park of Colosseum, in RomeThey signed the document at the Italian archaeological site itself, with the aim of developing joint projects in the areas of culture, tourism, education, sports and the economy.
The ceremony will be attended by the rector of Christ the Redeemer, Father Omar, the director of the Colosseum Archaeological Park, Simone Quilici, and the Brazilian ambassador to Italy. Renato Mosca.
What does the agreement stipulate?
The partnership establishes a permanent network of cooperation between the two institutions. The program includes conferences, workshops, exchanges, and reciprocal institutional visits, as well as joint actions for international promotion and enhancement of the historical, artistic, and religious heritage of both locations.
The initiative also seeks to reinforce a “culture of peace” and dialogue between peoples through shared cultural heritage.
Two Wonders in the world
Christ the Redeemer and the Colosseum are included in the list of NNew Seven Wonders of the World Since 2007, when they were elected in a global popular vote. The twinning between the two monuments is part of a broader strategy of the Christ the Redeemer Sanctuary, which already maintains partnerships with other symbolic sites around the world to expand cultural cooperation and generate opportunities for tourism and economic development.
