Brazil and Italy sign an agreement to recognize driver's licenses.

Italy and Brazil have signed an agreement for the reciprocal recognition of driving licenses, which will allow citizens of both countries to convert their driving licenses from categories A and B without having to take practical or theoretical exams.

Signed by the Brazilian ambassador in Rome, Ricardo Neiva Tavares, and the Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mario Giro, the document will enter into force 60 days after its ratification by both countries.

When this happens, a Brazilian who moves to Italy – or vice versa – will be able to convert their driver's license without having to take any type of test, as long as they make the request before completing four years of residence in the other nation.

However, the agreement will only apply to cars and motorcycles. In other categories, it will still be necessary to take practical and theoretical exams.
