An Italian Carnival classic: Chiacchiere di Carnavale is made from fried dough and sugar and changes its name depending on the location
There is no Carnival in Italy without having Chatter at the table. A simple, quick dessert that pleases children and adults alike.
The name may vary from region to region. In Brazil, it is known as grostoli or turned underwear. In Emilia-Romagna, they are called hit. In Piedmont they are known as bugie di Carnevale, and in Tuscany it is Cenci.
Despite the variations that may exist between one region and another, the result is always the same: a thin fried dough, covered in a shower of sugar.
