The city of Treviso, in northeastern Italy, is looking for 100 volunteer judges to help choose the world's best tiramisu. The event takes place in October, but registration will be open for one day only: September 13th.
Created in 2017, the Tiramisu World Cup brings together 240 competitors in two categories—Original Recipe and Creative Recipe. The championship takes place between October 10th and 11th. The host city is in the Veneto region, the same area where Prosecco sparkling wine is produced.
Anyone over 18 can participate in the selection process, provided they correctly answer a 15-question test about the rules. The fastest participants earn the right to judge.
There’s just one detail…
The judges receive no fee. They also receive no travel expenses. As the official website states, "You won't pay anything to taste the tiramisu, but you won't receive any compensation either—including travel expenses."
The chosen contestants will be tasked with tasting up to ten recipes alongside a professional judge and ensuring that the rules are followed. This includes checking the ingredients, the use of utensils, and the positioning of the competitors.
The work ends there. The semifinals and finals are judged solely by experts. The volunteer judges can then toast with a Prosecco and enjoy the experience.
How to Apply
Selection takes place exclusively on the website tiramisuworldcup.com, on September 13th, between 10am and midnight (Italian time).
