The Italian Consulate General in São Paulo implemented, this Tuesday (7), the experimental “Click Day” system for first-time passport appointments. The initiative, which seeks to combat the role of intermediaries, made slots available for the entire month of February, with the aim of making the process more transparent and agile.
During the experimental phase, new vacancies will be announced in advance on the consulate's official website and social media. In the meantime, emergency channels and services for people over 70 years of age will continue to operate normally, in accordance with the available guidelines.
Although the new feature was well received by many, with praise from those who managed to schedule quickly, other users expressed dissatisfaction.
User reviews
“Congratulations to the Consulate for the initiative, especially aiming to abolish intermediaries! I succeeded today, after more than 2 months of trying. Thank you very much!” celebrated Nádila Bertin, on the consulate’s page, on Facebook.
Marcos Mascaretti also praised the offer: “I went in today and there were plenty of available slots for those who already have their passports in hand to renew! Now that's something! Congratulations!”
On the other hand, Valdete Minari expressed her frustration: “Wow, I think it got worse. Instead of benefiting us, it got even worse, and now it’s only on 05/02 again! I don’t understand…”
Despite the discrepancies, other users reported positive results. Fernanda Cristiane Bulitini Teixeira highlighted: “My son managed to schedule an appointment to renew his passport after a year of trying.”
System requires attention to registration data
The consulate reinforces the need to keep registration data updated (AIR), such as address and information about children, to avoid problems during the scheduling process. Discrepancies may lead to cancellation, with communication being made via telephone or email registered in the system Prenot@mi.
The initiative is part of an ongoing effort by the consulate to modernize consular services and better meet the needs of the Italian community in São Paulo.
