Government adopts containment measures to curb the increase in the number of infected people

The number of coronavirus cases in Italy is skyrocketing. According to official information, the number of infected people is over 100. Two people have died.

Meanwhile, containment measures are put into practice. Today will be a different Sunday in Lombardy and Veneto, regions in northern Italy. Sporting events in the two regions affected by coronavirus have been cancelled, including the three Serie A games between Inter-Sampdoria, Atalanta-Sassuolo and Verona-Cagliari.

50 thousand people are quarantined in 11 cities.

Masses, carnival parties and public events were banned.

This Saturday afternoon, Premier Giuseppe Conte published a decree that, among other measures, bans school trips throughout Italy in the coming weeks.
