The pre-sale of tickets for the exhibition began this Friday (26), on the 87th anniversary of the bombing of Guernica.Picasso, the stranger” (“Picasso, the foreigner”), which will take more than 80 works by the Spanish artist to the Royal Palace of Milan.
The exhibition takes place between September 20, 2024 and February 2, 2025, in partnership with the Picasso Museum, the Palais de la Porte Dorée and the National Museum of the History of Immigration, all in Paris, France.
The public will be able to see more than 80 works by the author of “Guernica”, as well as documents, photographs, letters and videos, in a project that proposes reflections on themes such as reception, immigration and interpersonal relationships, curated by sociologist and writer Annie Cohen- Solal.
“I found documents, fingerprints and photographs that demonstrate how the police considered Picasso a foreigner and an outcast,” said Cohen-Solal, now a professor at Bocconi University in Milan. (HANDLE)
