Residents and tourists of Lamezia Terme, in the small town of province of Catanzaro, took a dive into the past: with the possibility of paying for the cone in lire and not in euros.
The friendly and fun initiative took place this Thursday, April 21st, to celebrate the first anniversary of a calabrese gelateria, inspired by the 1960s, a period characterized by tree economic of Italy.
According to Valentino Pileggi, creator of Italian Coneria, the intention was “to make customers return to the years when their parents and grandparents went to buy ice cream with lira”.
