Considered a fugitive, an Italian terrorist was arrested in the early hours of this Sunday (13) in Bolivia
He was one of the first to celebrate the arrest of terrorist Cesare Battisti.
The special advisor to the Presidency of the Republic for International Affairs, Filipe Martins, also commented on the arrest on social media: “The Italian terrorist Cesare Battisti was arrested in Bolivia this evening and will soon be brought to Brazil, from where he will probably be taken to Italy so that he can serve a life sentence, in accordance with the decision of the Italian Court,” he said.
President Jair Bolsonaro said on his personal Twitter account that with the capture of Battistiì, “justice will finally be done”. He praised those responsible for the arrest, in a joint operation by the Bolivian and Italian police, locating and capturing Battisti on the streets of Santa Cruz de La Sierra (Bolivia).
“Congratulations to those responsible for capturing terrorist Cesare Battisti! Finally, justice will be done to the Italian murderer and fellow idealist of one of the most corrupt governments that ever existed in the world [PT].”
Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PSL-SP), son of President Jair Bolsonaro, also spoke out on social media about the arrest of Italian Cesare Battisti. “Italy only had 'years of lead' because before it had years of terrorism. Bombs, kidnapped officials, political assassinations, etc. You can’t fight terrorism as if it were a common crime,” he said.
