Singer Ana Castela has once again commented on social media about obtaining Italian citizenship after a three-year process.
After collecting the European passport at the Italian Consulate in CuritibaOn Tuesday (19), the artist published a new video explaining details about the recognition of the family's citizenship.
"For those who are wondering, three years ago, my mother applied for an Italian passport, Italian citizenship, right? She started the process. My father's hasn't been processed yet, only mine, my sister's, and my mother's have been successful," the singer said aboard her jet, alongside her family.
According to Ana Castela, the application was initiated by her mother, Michelle Castela. Her younger sister, Antonella, also had her citizenship recognized. The singer's father, Rodrigo, is still awaiting the completion of the process.
The singer also commented on the Italian origin of her family's surname.
"With the surname. With the surname, right, ours, because the surname is Italian. Mine, my mother's, in this case, is Italian, and my father's too."
During the video, Ana Castela jokes with her father about the fact that she has already received Italian citizenship.
"I have it, you don't; I have it, you don't."
The video then suggests that Rodrigo is still in the process of obtaining citizenship.
"You got lucky, you understand? Mine will be ready in a day."
Finally, the singer reinforces the relaxed tone of the conversation:
"Yes, but for now I have it, you don't."
The news broke after Ana Castela publicly celebrated obtaining Italian citizenship and a European passport. Upon receiving the document at the consulate, she received explanations about the rights guaranteed by citizenship, such as free movement within the European Union and the possibility of exchange programs and residency in other countries.
Known nationally as Boiadeira, Ana Castela was born in Amambai, Mato Grosso do Sul, and currently lives in Londrina, Paraná.
