Businesswoman Barbara Berlusconi, daughter of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, said last Tuesday (11) that she “has no intention of doing politics”, after being appointed as a member of the board of directors of the Teatro alla Scala, in Milan, by the governor of Lombardy, Attilio Fontana.

Contacted by ANSA, Barbara said that she “thanked Governor Fontana for the trust he placed in her”, but denied the rumors spread in the press about her political ambitions.

“The hypothesis raised by some media outlets has no relation to my [political] intentions and, therefore, has no basis,” said the businesswoman, Berlusconi’s middle daughter.

Barbara met with Fontana and the Secretary of Culture of Lombardy, Francesca Caruso, to discuss issues related to Scala, one of the most famous opera houses in the world. (HANDLE)
