According to Sky TG24, blood tests conducted by the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin ruled out any contact with ricin on the part of Gianni and Alice Di Vita, husband and daughter of Antonella Di Ielsi and Sara Di Vita, mother and daughter who died from poisoning in Pietracatella, in the province of Campobasso. The samples were collected on July 1st. The result confirms what had already been established by the Pavia Poison Control Center.
The Larino prosecutor's office asked German experts to test for antibodies to determine possible exposure to the substance. The institute is considered one of the most advanced centers in the world for the study of poisons and had developed techniques capable of detecting traces of ricin months later. The response was negative.
In recent days, the prosecution seized a computer and ten pen drives containing data and files from Gianni Di Vita. The seizure is part of an investigation into five doctors accused of manslaughter, in which Di Vita is a victim. Separately, the investigation is looking into a premeditated double homicide against unknown individuals. Prosecutor Elvira Antonelli re-interviewed Alice Di Vita, and the Campobasso police continued questioning individuals familiar with the facts.
