According to the newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, Italy has published the operational rules for FerX, an auction program to incentivize renewable energy sources with a capacity greater than 1 MW, totaling 27,15 GW. Applications for preliminary qualification begin on August 25th through the FER-X Definitivo portal. Power plants with a capacity below 1 MW, up to 10 GW, can access the incentives directly, without an auction. Applications for the first round, scheduled for the autumn, must be submitted by September 30th. The program manager has up to 90 days to respond, a period reduced to 60 days for this first round.
The rules introduce a mandatory preliminary qualification stage before any expression of interest.
