According to the RaiNews portal, the Mass celebrated by Pope Leo XIV in the Port of Rimini on August 22nd will feature 650 choir members, 115 musicians, and approximately one hundred technicians and volunteers—the largest musical ensemble ever assembled for a liturgy in the diocese. The project originated from Bishop Nicolò Anselmi's decision to involve all local choirs, from the most structured to small community groups. Registration initially exceeded 950 but stabilized at 650. Seven conductors coordinate the choir, and the orchestra, composed mainly of young people, is directed by Maestro Davide Tura.
The Rimini Meeting is the large annual gathering promoted by the Catholic movement Communion and Liberation, featuring debates, exhibitions, and shows. The organizers reported that reservations sold out within hours, with nearly 20 places occupied. The first song of the celebration will be “Chiesa di Dio… Popolo in festa” (Church of God… People in celebration). The choir will feature a 14-year-old girl and an 85-year-old woman singing side-by-side.
After spending the morning in San Marino, the Pope arrives at the Meeting at 15 PM (Italian time). From 17 PM he will tour the city in the Popemobile. At 17:30 PM he will meet with vulnerable people at the cathedral, including people with disabilities, prisoners, and young people from therapeutic communities. Mass on the harbor beach is scheduled for 18:30 PM.
