The fascinating Genoa has just won a very prestigious award: it is the new European Capital of Christmas, a city where it feels like being in a fairy tale.
The title “European Capital of Christmas” is given by European Parliament, and the decision came in Madrid, where the international jury met, chaired by José María Gil Robles, former president of the European Parliament.
“An award that fills us with pride and that seals the commitment made by this administration to make Genoa increasingly attractive”, said the coordinator of city marketing Genoa.
The result, according to her, confirms Genoa's strong connection with Christmas, which has a strong tradition in nativity scenes.
