Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, on a visit to Rio de Janeiro for the G20 leaders' summit, said on Tuesday (19) that she will return to Brazil to meet with the Italian community.
“We should sign it on the occasion of my next visit. I think we need to come back here too to meet the Italian community,” declared Meloni, recalling that Brazil will celebrate the 2024 150 years of Italian immigration.
“It was a year of unprecedented political visits, in terms of number and quality. President [Sergio] Mattarella came, as you know, and it is a work that we need to continue to carry forward,” stressed the Prime Minister, who is making her first trip to the country.
At a press conference in the Brazilian capital, the prime minister said she agreed with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on the need to “work on a new action plan to update the strategic partnership” between the two countries. (Handle)
