The governor of the Italian region of Lombardy, Attilio Fontana, will be in São Paulo next Saturday (22) to “strengthen economic, commercial and academic relations with Brazil”. The visit is part of an institutional mission that also includes Santiago, in Chile, and Buenos Aires, in Argentina.
The detailed schedule for the visit to São Paulo has not yet been released, but Fontana is expected to meet with businesspeople, government representatives and academic institutions to discuss possible partnerships and investments.
“The global challenges we face, including the energy transition, technological innovation and the evolution of international relations, force us to seek new strategic alliances,” said the governor.
He also highlighted the interest in “opening new channels of cooperation in the sectors that most characterize us and in which we can be competitive: the manufacturing industry, advanced technologies, the aerospace sector, renewable energies, health and academic research”.
Fontana will be accompanied by Undersecretary Raffaele Cattaneo and a delegation seeking new opportunities for Lombard companies and institutions.
The Lombard delegation includes members from universities such as the University of Milan, the Politecnico di Milano, the University of Pavia and the University of Insubria, as well as associations such as Assolombarda, ANIE and Anima Confindustria.
