Civil aviation workers held a four-hour national strike across Italy on Monday (25) in protest against the lack of solutions to the crisis in the sector, especially the impasse involving Alitalia, which has been put up for sale.
The act was called by the country's main unions and involved pilots, flight attendants, maintenance technicians and ground crews. The strike lasted from 10 am to 14 pm and caused the cancellation of 95 flights.
Furthermore, employees of Air Italy, the country's second largest airline, are on a 24-hour strike, but the company has guaranteed two operating slots, from 7am to 10am and from 18pm to 21pm. As the strike was already scheduled, there were few disruptions at Italian airports.
The new law will now be reviewed by the European Union's courts. And there are European precedents that strengthen the defense of descendants.

“The strike was successful, with many flights canceled preventively and very high worker participation. Now we need answers about the labor situation in the sector and the Alitalia case”, said the general secretary of the Italian Transport Workers' Federation (Filt), Fabrizio Cuscito.
