The city of Florence will honor the Brazilian revolutionary. Anita garibaldi with a square. The space is located next to the entrance on Rua degli Alli-Maccarani.
The tribute will name the public space after the wife of the popular Italian leader Giuseppe Garibaldi. The decision was made by the city council.
The council accepted the proposal presented by the Anita and Giuseppe Garibaldi Committee and the Insieme per Brozzi center. The initiative was put to a vote by councilwoman Caterina Biti.
Ana Maria de Jesus Ribeiro, who went down in history as Anita garibaldi, was born in Laguna, Santa Catarina, in 1821. At the age of 18, he met Giuseppe Garibaldi, who had fled his homeland and arrived in Brazil.
