The country is in seventh place and second in Europe, behind Germany.

Italian industry has overtaken Brazil and become the seventh largest in the world, with 2,3% of global production, the General Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria) reported on Thursday (3). “Italy, with 2,3%, is in seventh place and second in Europe, behind Germany (6,1%): almost half compared to the pre-crisis period, but higher than those of the United Kingdom and France,” reported the report “Industrial Scenarios” presented by the entity.

In first place in the ranking is China, with 28,6% of world industrial production, a number that further increased the difference with the United States, which appears in second with 19%. According to the report, among the opportunities for Italians is investment in “Made In Italy”, which has “strong and growing demand”, and among the worst problems are “little availability of credit and low profitability”.
