O italian summer, which starts this week and runs until September, will be illuminated by 4 events spread across the country, including shows, festivals, conferences and sports competitions, with the expectation of attracting more than 28 million national and international travelers.
The numbers are from the National Tourism Agency (Enit), which says that around 2 musical shows are expected to bring together 5 million people over the summer months.
Approximately 290 sporting events, 800 festivals and 100 exhibitions are also planned. According to Enit, Italian airports are expected to receive 1,6 million passengers between June and September, 82,7% from abroad and 17,3% of national origin.
Among the 20 main countries of origin analyzed, almost 30% of international tourists are expected to arrive from Europe, but the United States leads the ranking, with 285 thousand expected passengers (18,3% of the total), ahead of France, Germany, Spain and United Kingdom.
On average, foreign tourists buy airline tickets 120 days before traveling, for a 12-night stay. (HANDLE)
