Test with hydroxychloroquine
Italian immunologist Roberto Burioni announced this Monday that laboratory tests with an old medicine used against malaria showed positive results in preventing the new coronavirus (Sars-CoV-2).
In the study, the San Raffaele Hospital team made the virus replicate in the laboratory and administered the medicine in three situations: after infection of the cells; before contagion; and before and after the action of the virus. According to Burioni, the positive result appeared in the third hypothesis.
