The Italian Consulate General in Porto Alegre received a visit from the Vice-Governor of Rio Grande do Sul on July 26th. Gabriel SouzaDuring the meeting, in addition to overseeing the issuance of his wife's Italian passport, Souza participated in a productive meeting with the consul general. Valerio Caruso.

At the meeting, the Head of the Military House, Colonel Luciano Chaves Boeira, was honored with a medal sent by the Italian president Sergio Mattarella, in gratitude for the services provided during Mattarella's recent visit and for the care provided to victims of the May floods.
The meeting addressed the strengthening of relations between Rio Grande do Sul and Italy, including technical and scientific exchanges between the Civil Defenses of the two regions.
Italy had already shown its support by sending around 30 tons of humanitarian aid and recently announced additional aid from around 3 million reais for Brazilian Red Cross.
