As a child, Marina Piro wanted to be a forest fairy, see other places and get closer to nature. At 20, she got closer to that dream, but in a different way: she decided to adapt a van, transforming it into a kind of house on wheels, and travel to unknown places in the company of her dog Odie, adopted from a kennel after a moment of "love at first sight".
With the idea, she launched the Pamthevan website, where she shares her experiences. “A girl, a dog, a van. Traveling and exploring alternative ways of life and in tune with nature,” she describes herself on Instagram.

ANALYZE MY CASEEven with no previous experience in carpentry or automotive work, Marina removed the seats from the back of the van and built a mini house in their place. Just for the bed, which also functions as a chest, it took two days.
Even more time was dedicated to building a counter, where she stores cooking utensils and the cylinder that powers the stove installed on the unit. Furthermore, she equipped the space with other items, such as plants and a fan, to bring more comfort and joy to the environment. Each of these preparation steps are detailed by Marina on her website.
According to the traveler, the main reason she chose to travel on wheels was to be able to take Odie along, without worrying about getting tickets and rooms that would accommodate a large dog.
