The city of Jacundá, 115 kilometers from Marabá, in southeastern Pará, will host the 12th Agricultural Fair between June 25th and 28th, coinciding with the 3rd edition of [event name missing]. Italian Culture FestivalThe program brings together rural producers, companies, institutions, and the community around business and the appreciation of local traditions.
The festival celebrates the presence of Italian descendants in the region and, according to the organizers, surprised everyone with its large audience in previous editions. The event attracted visitors from neighboring municipalities and brought Italian culture to an area far from the historical colonization centers of the South and Southeast.
Italian culture outside the traditional mainstream.
The Italian presence in Brazil is usually associated with the colonies in Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, and São Paulo. In Jacundá, in the North of the country, descendants keep this heritage alive and have transformed the memory of their ancestors into a festival that grows every year.
The initiative was created to celebrate this heritage and gained prominence alongside the agricultural fair, the municipality's main economic showcase. The organizers state that public participation exceeded expectations and brought residents closer to the history of immigration in the region.
The fair expects 10 visitors.
Promoted by the Rural Union of Jacundá, the fair has seen an increase from approximately 6 visitors in the previous edition to an expected 10 people this year. The 2026 edition is expected to bring together around 80 exhibitors, a higher number than before, with free admission every day.
The program includes a bovine genetics fair, which brings together material for animal breeding and reproduction, and a series of technical lectures on agribusiness and innovation. The musical attractions mainly feature regional artists.
Júlio Adolpho, representative of the Rural Union of Jacundá, stated that the growth confirms the strength of the event. “The fair has taken a huge leap. Exhibitors who had never participated before were with us last year, did business, and returned this year,” he said. (With information from Correio de Carajás)
