Italian citizens living abroad have up to a week to decide whether they want to vote in Italy in referendums on changes to judicial rules scheduled for June 12.
Expatriated and regularized Italians in Air have the prerogative to participate in referendum consultations through postal voting, but they can also choose to vote in their own municipality of electoral registration in Italy.
To do this, you must inform the consulate of your choice no later than 10 days after the date the election results are announced.
Therefore, the option to vote in Italy must arrive at the consulate before April 17th and can be delivered by hand (Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 12 pm), by post or by email [email protected].
This communication can be written on plain paper and, to be valid, it must contain the voter's name, surname, date, place of birth, place of residence and signature, in addition to being accompanied by a copy of the declarant's identity document.

You can also use the form available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (www.esteri.it) or that of the consular office itself.
The five referendums on June 12 will decide on changes to Italy's judicial rules.
The most important one calls for the repeal of the law that provides for ineligibility and the prohibition of holding elective and government positions after final convictions – it was this rule that left former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi ineligible between 2013 and 2018.
There will also be a referendum to decide on the separation of judicial careers, with the idea of forcing the magistrate to choose at the beginning of his career whether he wants to exercise a judging role or in the Public Prosecutor's Office.
