5th place – Alheira de Vinhais
Made with Bísaro pork, alheira de Vinhais is typical of the Bragança region of Portugal. It has a smoky flavor and a firm texture.

4th place – Alheira de Mirandela
Another Portuguese dish on the list, it's made with various meats (chicken, duck, turkey), bread, garlic, and fat. It emerged as a kosher alternative during the Inquisition.

3rd place – Boerewors
The South African sausage is a symbol of the country. It's a blend of beef and pork and served with pap, a type of polenta. It originated from the fusion of African and Dutch cultures.

2nd place – Chistorra
Typical of the Basque Country, chistorra is made with fresh pork, garlic, salt, and plenty of paprika. It contains between 70% and 80% fat, ensuring an intense texture and flavor.

1st place – Fresh Italian sausage
