The Microlino, an electric vehicle developed by a scooter manufacturer, will finally hit the market, starting in September.
The Micro Mobility mini car is an electric version of the popular Isetta, which in Brazil was called Romi Isetta in the 1950s.

After several delays, the start-up has finally launched the production version of the two-seater stroller. The debut would be at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show (Switzerland). The fair, however, was cancelled.
The manufacturer hopes to have the subcompact approved by August 2021, for manufacturing and deliveries to begin in September – all units will be manufactured by the Italians at CECOMP, in Turin.

Like the Isetta, the Microlino maintains the huge front door, which opens as if it were a refrigerator door, but unlike the initial version, in which the steering wheel also moved as the door opened.
In the latest version of the model, the steering wheel is fixed to the chassis, certainly for safety reasons.
With only space for two and a 300-liter trunk, the Microlino weighs around 450 kg, has engines with two power levels and two battery capacities, the most generous of which provides 200 km between recharges.

Furthermore, the electric motor can accelerate the microcar up to 90 km/h.
Allusion to Isetta
Above all, the Microlino's design makes a direct reference to the BMW Isetta. The original cart was made by the Italian company Iso SpA. Production ran from 1953 to 1961.
In 1955, the Brazilian machine manufacturer Romi received a license from Iso to make the Isetta in the country.
In fact, it is the first vehicle manufactured in Brazil. Until 1961, around 3 thousand units were sold.
