Today, February 26th, World Pistachio Day is celebrated (World Pistacchio Day). Did you know that Italy produces some of the best pistachios in the world?

The pistachio Bronte DOP it is grown exclusively in the town of Bronte, located in the eastern part of Sicily. These dried fruits are highly valued for their unique flavor, aroma and bright green color.

Called “green gold”, due to their high value, they are grown in volcanic soil, rich in minerals and nutrients, and the trees are irrigated with pure spring water from the nearby Etna mountain. The combination of these factors is considered to be the reason behind the distinct flavor and quality of these pistachios.

Bronte pistachios – of protected origin – are harvested manually, which ensures that only the ripest nuts are harvested. After harvesting, the nuts are roasted and salted, and can be eaten as a snack or used in a variety of culinary dishes.
