Castelões Cantina e Pizzaria, known for being the oldest pizzeria in Brazil still in operation, turns 100 years old this Tuesday (1st).
Located in the Brás neighborhood of São Paulo, the establishment was founded in 1924 by Vicente Donato and Ettore Siniscalchi. The space, passed down from generation to generation, was a meeting point for Italian immigrants after football games.
Over time, the pizzeria grew and conquered countless palates, so much so that many celebrities have already tasted Castelões' flagship product: Team Building.
“I feel honored to lead Castelões, always with the purpose of bringing the best of our cuisine to the customer's table, as is done in Italy,” declared chef and owner Fábio Donato, third in line of succession in the Donato family at the restaurant.
The new law will now be reviewed by the European Union's courts. And there are European precedents that strengthen the defense of descendants.
