A Paraná Civil Police (PCPR) acted on the morning of this Tuesday (25) to investigate the falsification of certificates of applicants who intended to Italian citizenship. The action took place in Curitiba and six search and seizure warrants were executed.
According to the investigation, the suspects used notary offices in Santa Catarina to carry out the forgery process.

During the investigations, civil police officers seized cell phones and documents that will assist in the progress of the investigations, which are continuing to identify those involved and establish the strategy that was used to carry out the crime.
According to delegate Emmanoel David, the company is headquartered in the capital of Paraná and benefited hundreds of people looking for the document.
He reported that only one Sworn Translator of Curitiba had his signature forged on around 400 certificates.
"This is a criminal organization that has been defrauding hundreds of users who apply for Italian citizenship here in Curitiba. The scam began with a complaint filed by a certified translator here in the capital," explained the police chief.

Investigations conducted by the Fraud Division also indicate that, depending on the results obtained from the investigations, all processes initiated by applicants for Italian citizenship at this company in Curitiba may be annulled.
Investigations showed that there are victims even outside Brazil. Many of them paid between R$5 and R$50 for falsified translations. According to the delegate, some people knew that the documentation was tampered with.
“The searches were carried out against individuals and legal entities here in Curitiba. These searches correspond to the criminal association. Later, this investigation will be expanded to include people from all over Brazil.”, concluded the delegate.
