Members of the Italian police protested this Friday (14) at the Ministry of the Interior after receiving Ffp2 masks pink.
Police officers claim that the use of masks of this color could damage the reputation of the profession.
“We do not understand the reason for purchasing masks in a color that seems inappropriate for our administration,” the police union wrote in a letter to the Ministry of the Interior.
The association adds, in the same letter, that the purchase is “intriguing” and that, two years after being in a pandemic, it should be easy to buy “appropriate” masks.

Not a question of sexism according to the syndicate, but of decorum. Even if the masks were purple or green, they would not be considered acceptable because these masks must be worn with the uniform. “The problem does not arise from color prejudice, but from the fact that the use of uniforms is regulated”, explains the union.
Law 74/2025 is being challenged in the Court of Justice of the European Union. For thousands of descendants, the next step depends on understanding how the new rule has affected each case.
Your case may still have a legal outcome.

The union also argues that, in the future, masks should be black, white or blue.
O Ministry of the Interior Italian has not yet reacted to the letter.
