The Metropolitan Pavilion convention space in New York will host representatives from 25 Italian restaurants in the city that have been selected by the Italy-United States Chamber of Commerce (IACC) to earn the “Ospitalità Italiana” seal of quality.
The fundamental requirements for the recognition, which was created in Italy to prove the “Italian authenticity” of establishments from other countries, are the genuineness of the products, an exclusively Italian wine list, a high level of service and the use of 100% olive oil. extra virgin Italian Furthermore, you must have a great love for the Italian language, which must be preserved in all its forms, from the menu to conversations with chefs and waiters, so much so that at least one of the employees must speak Italian.
“The objectives of the project are to support and value Italian restaurants around the world, to create a 'network' that allows events to be held to value the authenticity of the DOP [Protected Designation of Origin] and IGP [Protected Geographical Indication] brands, promoting our excellence”, explained the general secretary of Iacc, Federico Tozzi.
“We, as the Italy-United States Chamber of Commerce, are committed 360 days a year to monitor and verify that the standards of the 'Ospitalità Italiana' are respected,” explained the Italian.
