The capital of Lombardy stands out as the center of contemporary art in Italy from April 1st to 6th with the 9th edition of Milan Art Week.
The program features more than 350 events, 60 of which are launches.
The number of partners is also impressive, with 205 promoters that include institutions, foundations, associations, independent spaces and galleries.
As its name suggests, Milan Art Week is a period “dedicated entirely to art in all its forms, which was created with the aim of exploring the world around us, stimulating questions about the present and the future”, says a statement from the event, which features exhibitions, screenings, debates, performances “and much more”.
“Milan Art Week is an essential event for the contemporary art scene, which allows us to rediscover the role of culture as a driver of collective growth and connections between institutions, artists and citizens,” says Tommaso Sacchi, Secretary of Culture for the Municipality of Milan.
According to him, this edition values the plurality of artistic expressions by covering “from large exhibitions to experimental projects”.
Milan Art Week 2025, which takes place in conjunction with the International Fair of Modern and Contemporary Art (Miart), features the exhibition “Body of Evidence” by Iranian visual artist Shirin Neshat at the Contemporary Art Pavilion (PAC); the solo exhibition by Italian Nico Vascellari, who presents a unique and specific project for the majestic Sala delle Cariatidi of the Palazzo Reale; and the project “Etruschi del Novecento” at the Luigi Rovati Foundation, which focuses on revealing the influence of Etruscan culture on 20th-century Italian artists.HANDLE)
