Is there a big event happening on the planet? You can bet Laura Pausini will be there.

From party to party: Laura Pausini sings the FIFA anthem before the World Cup final.

Every Brazilian knows the type: that person who's at every wedding, christening, and graduation. The national nickname is "party animal." In the global showbiz world, when it comes to mega-events, the title seems to belong to someone. And she's Italian.

Laura Pausini This Sunday (19) he took to the pitch at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey to sing before the final of World cup between Argentina and Spain. If the scene seemed familiar, it wasn't just your imagination: in 2025, she had already participated in the final celebration of... FIFA Club World Cup, in the same stadium.

This time, alongside Briton Robbie Williams and American Nicole Scherzinger, the Solarolo singer performed "Desire," the official FIFA anthem. The three appeared in shades of blue at a ceremony tailor-made for the biggest possible stage in world football.

A contested position

Pausini shares the informal throne of mandatory presence on big stages with Shakira, another veteran of global ceremonies. The Colombian, incidentally, was also at MetLife and participated in the halftime show at the World Cup final.

In terms of recent attendance, however, the Italian's record is hard to beat: two FIFA finals in two years. When world football throws a party and starts looking for someone to invite, apparently someone in the organization already leaves the number of Laura Pausini Among my favorites.

And the night had enough celebrities to fill several magazine covers.

Jennifer Hudson sang the United States national anthem, while María Becerra performed the Argentinian national anthem. Since the "Marcha Real," the Spanish national anthem, doesn't have official lyrics, the Spanish brass group performed it.

The trophy also received star treatment. Tennis player Carlos Alcaraz and South Korean actress Jung Ho-yeon, known worldwide for "Round 6," carried the traditional Louis Vuitton trunk containing the trophy onto the field. World champions Andrés Iniesta and Mario Kempes also participated in the trophy presentation, representing Spain and Argentina.

It was a close call for FIFA to summon the stadium's superintendent as well.

For the Italians, who once again did not have the Azzurri competing in the World Cup, there was one consolation.

The national team might even be left out of the party.

Laura Pausini, hardly.
