3.2 magnitude earthquake scares Italians in Rome province

Phenomenon left no victims or material damage

An earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale was recorded in the early hours of this Sunday (30) in the east of the province of Rome, about 24 km from the Italian capital, and frightened residents of the region.

According to data from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the earthquake was felt at 00:52 (local time) and had an epicenter 10km deep between Gallicano and Colonna. The tremor left no damage or casualties.

“The Regional Operations Center reports that there was no damage to people or property, but only fear among the population,” the Civil Protection of the Lazio region said in a statement.

The governor of Lazio, Nicola Zingaretti, is monitoring the situation to assess any type of emergency. Civil Protection voluntary associations also intervened immediately to verify the situation.
