Milan, Rome, and Turin are among the best cities in the world for university students, according to the ranking. QS Best Student Cities 2027, from the British consultancy Quacquarelli SymondsThe list evaluates 150 cities with more than 250.000 inhabitants and at least two universities.
The survey considers six indicators: university quality, city attractiveness, presence of international students, job opportunities, affordability, and the opinions of the students themselves.
Milan moves up five positions.
Milan is the first Italian city on the list.Milan, ranked 39th with 80 points, five positions higher than the previous year. The Politecnico di Milano, one of the highest-rated universities in the world, drives the city's performance, which also stands out for its quality of life and affordable university fees.
Rome appears in 47th place, with 74,5 points. The capital stands out for its cultural offerings and lower cost of living compared to other major European capitals. The leading university is... Wisdom, which occupies the 111th place in the global ranking of institutions.

Turin completes the Italian trio, in 66th place, with 70 points. The city has one of the lowest costs of living in Europe and boasts... Polytechnic of Turin, which climbed 36 positions in the university rankings compared to last year.
Seoul leads the world ranking.
Seoul ranks first, with 100 points. The South Korean capital combines job opportunities, a vibrant cultural life, quality of life, and safety. Its main institution is Seoul National University, ranked 38th globally.
Tokyo comes in second, with 98 points, driven by job opportunities after graduation. London completes the podium, with 97,3 points and more than 20 universities ranked, including Imperial College, the second best in the world.
Melbourne (4th) and Munich (5th) round out the top five. Sydney, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, and Zurich complete the top 10.

Annual ranking by Quacquarelli Symonds, a British company specializing in higher education analysis, the same company that publishes the world university ranking. This edition evaluates 150 cities with more than 250 inhabitants and at least two universities, cross-referencing six criteria, from academic prestige to cost of living.
