The Faculty of Letters of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG) will promote, next Saturday (October 5th), a special event to celebrate the 150 years of Italian immigration in Brazil. With a mass in Italian and a cultural moment, the tribute takes place at 18 pm, at the São Judas Tadeu Church, in the Coimbra sector, in Goiânia.
Homage to Italian culture with music and solidarity
The ceremony will begin with a mass celebrated by friars Lourenço Maria Papin and Marcos Sassatelli, both of the Dominican order.
In addition to the religious celebration in Italian, the event will be marked by musical performances, with highlights from tenor Adriano Pinheiro and the choirs Gradiva, Vozes do ADUFG, Toscanelli and Madrigal Lettere InCanto.
The public will also be able to participate in an act of solidarity, contributing 1kg of non-perishable food, which will be donated to immigrants in vulnerable situations.
The new law will now be reviewed by the European Union's courts. And there are European precedents that strengthen the defense of descendants.
