Radicondoli, a small village in Tuscany region, has intensified its strategy to combat population decline: it offers incentives of up to 20 euros — around R$126 — to new residents (see at the end of the article how to apply).

Since 2023, the local government has been promoting a repopulation plan that includes financial assistance for those who purchase vacant homes. In 2025, the program was expanded to include renters, covering up to 50% of the rent for the first two years.
In addition to housing bonuses, new residents can receive up to an additional €6 — approximately R$37,8 — to cover expenses such as transportation, heating, and the installation of sustainable energy systems.

Nestled among the Tuscan hills and surrounded by vineyards, Radicondoli has just over 900 inhabitants and, like many Italian villages, is facing an aging population and the emptying of its residential areas.

According to Mayor Francesco Guarguaglini, the plan has already allocated more than 400 euros—equivalent to R$2,5 million—to initiatives to attract residents and boost the local economy. The package includes support for students, public transportation subsidies, and incentives for those who adopt green energy sources.

The program will remain in effect until early 2026, and the city government maintains an open channel for interested parties through the city's official website. Priority is given to young families, independent professionals, and entrepreneurs who want to establish themselves permanently.
