A new intense heat wave is expected to hit Italy next week, with highs above 40°C in several regions and peaks that could reach 44°C. The week begins with above-average temperatures in the Central and Southern regions. In the inland plains of Puglia and Sardinia, the forecast indicates peaks of 36°C. A significant increase in temperature follows in the South, with the Major Islands, Sicily, and Sardinia potentially reaching 40°C. The Central region will also remain above average.
Mathematical models indicate significant peaks starting in the middle of the week, which should extend at least until the weekend.
