Netflix has officially announced the renewal of the series “Emily in Paris” for its fifth season, but this time with the promise of adventures in the city of Rome, Italy.
According to Darren Star, creator of the series, the new phase of the character Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, will be in Paris and also in the “eternal city”.
“There’s no place like Rome,” declared the protagonist while sipping an espresso on a terrace overlooking the capital, in a short clip from Netflix. In the fourth season, the last one released, Emily embarks on a new love story with Marcello Muratori – played by Eugenio Franceschini – the attractive executive of a small but exclusive fashion company.
After signing a contract to do the marketing for the Italian fashion house, inspired by Brunello Cucinelli, the character moves to Rome to lead the opening of the Grateu Agency headquarters, run by Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu). In an interview with Deadline, Star confirmed that the connection to Rome will continue in the fifth season, even though Emily has not changed the hashtag on her Instagram profile. “She will continue to work in Rome from time to time. Rome. That doesn't mean the change will be permanent,” he said.
Collins explained to “Good Morning America” that she can’t wait to see what happens between Emily and Marcello: “He’s a whole different adventure because we want Emily to find a better work-life balance.
We want her to be able to smile without conditions,” he emphasized.
Emily in Paris Season 15 premiered on August 10 at No. 19,9 on Netflix's Global Top 10, with 93 million views in its first four days, and reached the Top 12 in XNUMX countries. The second season, in turn, became available on September XNUMX. (HANDLE)
