Next tuesday, December 10th, at 19:30, Italian Memory House Museum will be the stage of 9th Christmas Concert, a free event open to the public that promises to enchant with Italian music and culture.
The presentation will take place in the garden at the museum's façade, located at Tibiriçá Street, No. 776, in the center of Ribeirão Preto, in front of the Metropolitan Cathedral. To ensure the safety and comfort of spectators, the street will be closed during the concert.
Italian music and Christmas spirit
The concert will feature special guest appearances by Memories of Italy Choir, from the choir The Song of the Soul (from the Free Academy of Music and Arts, of São Joaquim da Barra) and the musicians of Ensemble Suonare Insieme, under the direction of the conductor Alexandre Mazzer Perticarrari.
The repertoire includes classics of Italian music, such as “Funicular, funicular” e “In the blue painted blue”, in addition to traditional Christmas songs, such as “Astro del Cielo” (Italian version of “Silent Night”) and the iconic “You come down from the stars”, one of Italy's oldest and most beloved Christmas compositions, with a special arrangement by Giuseppe Liberto, maestro emeritus of the Vatican.
A journey through Italian culture
According to Gabriel Azarias, co-manager of the museum, the aim of the event is to involve the public in the Christmas spirit through Italian music and culture. “It is a presentation that delights everyone, providing a cultural journey through the repertoire,” he highlighted.
The concert will also revisit compositions that celebrate Italian stories and loves, by renowned names such as Di Capua, De Curtis, Leoncavallo and Modugno.
