The city of Franca, in the interior of São Paulo, is preparing to receive the 36th edition of the Festa di San Gennaro, a traditional event held by APAE (Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional).
Starting this Thursday, the 14th, the event will last until Sunday, the 17th, and will return the following week, from Thursday, the 21st, to Sunday, the 24th.
A Feast of San Gennaro will take place at the APAE Franca Events Space, located at Avenida Nazira Aidar, 100, in Jardim Redentor.
Every night, the event starts at 19pm, and on Sundays, it also offers lunch from 12pm.
Solidarity and gastronomy
Over the course of eight days, the public in Franca and the region will have the opportunity to collaborate with APAE de Franca and enjoy 18 varieties of dishes, including noodles, pastry, hamburger, kebab and the famous fogazza, which is tradition and the big star of the Festa di San Gennaro.
With the expectation of receiving 5 thousand people per day, the event was carefully planned to provide comfort to all visitors.
The infrastructure covers a covered area of 4,5 m² and has around 500 volunteers.
Culture and fun
In addition to the culinary delights, the Feast of San Gennaro It will also offer cultural attractions, with live music and performances by those served by APAE of Franca.
For children, the Kids Space promises lots of games and fun.
It is important to highlight that APAE de Franca serves more than 1,3 people with intellectual and multiple disabilities every day, together with their families, in the areas of Social Assistance, Education and Health.
The Festa di San Gennaro plays a fundamental role in raising funds to maintain these services.
With a planned budget of R$14 million for this year, the APAE of Franca It depends on several resources, including agreements with municipal, state and federal governments, which cover approximately 70% of this amount.
The rest is obtained through events such as the Festa di San Gennaro and the União de Forças Auction, in addition to fundraising through Telemarketing and the Empresa APAExonada program.
