Marriage, birth and citizenship recognition processes are the factors that most interfere with the acquisition of another nationality. However, there are countries that are not very flexible on this matter. “Accumulating” nationalities is prohibited by law in certain places and, in others, dual citizenship is only permitted in specific situations.

The French company Arton Capital prepared a list of countries that allow and prohibit dual nationality.
The majority accepts multiple citizenship, albeit with some restrictions, therefore, those who are left out of the list below do not present any barriers in this matter.
And the countries that prohibit by law the obtaining of dual citizenship, almost all of them led by dictatorial governments, are:

Some observations
It is important to note that not all countries not on this list automatically grant dual citizenship in all cases. In the specific case of Germany and Norway, for example, citizenship is granted at birth but is denied through naturalization.
Portugal, which has made changes to its Nationality Law in recent years and included the possibility of acquiring Portuguese citizenship through grandparents, is another example.
In the Bahamas, dual citizenship is also very specific. It is accepted until the age of 21. After this age, you need to choose which citizenship to opt for. Therefore, it is always important to check under what terms multiple nationality is prohibited and in which situations it is permitted. Of course there are cases like Belgium, for example, where it is accepted without any objection.
