Confusion at the rapper's concert left six people dead this Saturday
Sfera Ebbasta, the 26-year-old rapper who was supposed to perform at the “Lanterna Azzurra” nightclub in Corinaldo in the early hours of this Saturday (8), is an idol among teenagers and one of the biggest musical phenomena of the moment in Italy.
A confusion caused during the show ended with a death toll of six, including five teenagers aged 14 to 16, and more than 100 injured, seven of which were in serious condition.
Born Gionata Boschetti, in Cinisello Balsamo, near Milan, Sfera Ebbasta became famous with the release of the album “XDVR”, in 2015, and has more than 2,2 million followers on Instagram, where he performs the “ostentatious rapper” style.
His last album, “Rockstar,” from 2017, topped the charts in the country for months, with songs that mainly talk about money. “I defined myself as the 'king of trap' when trap was still nonexistent in Italy,” he recently said, referring to the style that mixes hip-hop with electronic music.

“If I can be considered an example, it is because I am a young man who left a disadvantaged neighborhood without a penny in my pocket”, he added in the same interview. Sfera Ebbasta, however, never sought to be a role model for her audience, especially young people.
“I am so ignorant about politics that I would look like a fool if I exposed myself. I believe that the main problem is ignorance, first of all from the political class itself. But if you do what a rapper tells you, something is wrong,” he stated.
